Hello and welcome to my Bolognese recipe



ingredients ;

  • 250g minced beef
  • one large onion
  • 2 to 3 cloves of garlic
  • 2 to 3 stalks of celery
  • 2 carrots
  • two tins chopped tomatoes
  • tomatoes puree
  • dried mixed herbs (or herbs of choice)
  • spaghetti or pasta




Start by adding the mince meat to a frying pan with a little oil and brown

While this is browning peel and finely chop the onion and add to meat .


Once brown grate in the carrot and finely chop and add the celery to the frying pan .

Stir these in a give them a few minutes to soften

Next add two to three table spoons of puree and stir ,again giving a few minutes to cook

Add the two tines of chopped tomatoes and chopped garlic , stir reduce temp and simmer for 10-15 mins. (keep stirring as this is not a runny sauce and can burn if left )

Put pasta in a pan of boiling water ,add salt and cook

Once sauce has simmered add dried mixed herbs and simmer for a few minutes while you drain pasta .

Add pasta to the plate and serve sauce on top .  cheddar or parmesan is yummy on top



This is not a runny sauce but if that is what you prefer add more chopped tomatoes or a little water while simmering .


Left overs can be kept in the fridge and are yummy cold or re heated over jacket potatoes ( always ensure re heated completely )


Seasonal veg can also be added , pumpkin ect
